Grandparents Apart UK

A million children in Britain are banned from seeing their grandparents because of family breakdown and it can happen to anyone. It did to us through no fault of our own. Please join or donate to help us in ‘Bringing Families Together’

Parents should be in complete control of a child’s upbringing. If they are unable to care for them then the child’s future should be decided by all members of the family by Family Group Conference with the help but not interference of social services.

The government by their indifference towards families have created a ‘them and us’ situation between families and social services and are often seen as a bully boy service mostly feared by families rather than respected.

The unique relationship grandparents have with the family must be explored and supported to the full for the welfare of our children. There is an army of grandparents out there that would be delighted to help should problems arise in their offspring’s home. For example, if their mum or dad is unable to look after them it would benefit the child to be cared for in a known home environment until they can be returned to their parents rather than being given to strangers. The effects of forced adoption from their birth family can devastate a child and be with them all their lives which lead to insecurity and problems in society.

Information packs are available from 0141 882 5658 It costs us £2.00p each for sending these info packs so please consider reimbursing us for the expense or please join us so we can continue to help reunite families. Every penny goes to the cause. We are a Not for profit volunteer organisation operating UK wide
